Woot.com, Vibrams, and Daily Deals

It's no secret that I love a great deal. I grew up in an era where I watched my father exercise this same passion every time he was on a car lot... it was often somewhat entertaining to watch him haggle. My father was so smooth with it that he's have the salesman squirming, and seemed to walk away with a great deal almost every time. I'm pleased that I've learned the value of saving a buck or two (or as much as $90 in the case of this purchase!) ... with just the click of a mouse, or in my case a magic track pad and a mac Mini from Apple.

That's why I love Hot deals, Daily Deals, and of course Woot!

My sister subscribes to their updates, and was the first to inform me that Vibram 5 Fingers were on sale for just $30. You can see here that these shoes normally go for a lot more cash. Since I'm kind of a no socks / barefoot running freak I had to take advantage of the savings. I hopped online and grabbed a pair for myself and the right women's size for Sarah also.

I am a recent veteran after honorably serving for four and a half years. My wife Sarah is still serving another year at our duty station here in Germany. Sometimes where we live makes getting things shipped a real pain, as not (Cough cough.... Sony) everyone ships to APO, and some take forever (our stuff from Otter Box took an entire month).

I share this because of how surprised I was not only with
the five dollar flat rate shipping from Woot!, but also that our shoes came in just six days from my ordering them for just $35 including shipping. I was expecting a really long wait with such low shipping fees, but we had our shoes within just five business days! Wow!
