Why you should consider a Medicare Advantage plan: Explained

Tell your grandparents it's too late to get the $1700 check that was payable to them. (This dollar figure is the average savings of a Medicare Enrolee who is using a Medicare Advantage plan.) The Medicare Modernization Act, or MMA (2003-2005) made this possible through the creation of what is called a "private fee for service" plan. This revision was created because of a very serious need for revision within Medicare and it's payment / management structure. Medicare currently hosts the benefits plans of 44million seniors, which it already struggles to manage in a cost-effective way, and with 77 million baby boomer's who will turn 65 between the time you' read this, and the year 2019. You may wonder how this affects you? Consider the laws of economics.

The MMA system works directly with insurance companies to handle claims, rather than requiring the 250,000 (I think this number is actually higher!?) US doctors to deal directly with Medicare. This allows for a much less interactive process when a claim is filed...and less interaction means less cost, and less room for mistakes. As a result, the premium that would have been $120 (on average) per month can in some cases reduce to zero dollars per month, without any compromise in coverage. Now that's what I call a good thing! In many cases, there are no networks, or referrals.... Please see the government's Medicare Advantage updates for additional information, and to learn how you can help a loved one(s) save money without compromising on the quality of service they receive!
